SACRAMENTO STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
GRAPHIC DESIGNER POSITION
The University Library at California State University, Sacramento is a large space that requires periodic design updates. The variety of designs include event posters, study room directions, and wayfinding communications that follow specific brand guidelines.
PRINT PROJECTS
Signage, posters, and room placards for the library need to be updated periodically. These projects each gave me experience in printing following vital design specifications.
UI/UX PROTOTYPING
Over time, an interface can get lost in translation through new designers and developers. Generating new prototypes using wireframing and Adobe XD showcase fresh and updated web concepts.
ICONOGRAPHY
Icons are crucial in communicating an idea or action within an interface. Designing icons for the library’s web page inspired me to take the existing brand and improve it.
FAMILY STUDY ROOM
The Family Study Room mural provided an opportunity to create lasting design. Using campus elements like trees, animals, and the bridge gave a familiar and friendly feel to the space.
INCLUSIVE BRAND MARK
In celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month, I was asked to take the library mark and represent “inclusion”. Not only did this mark do just that, it was able to spark meaningful conversations.
BUTTONS
Who doesn’t love buttons? Designing buttons was a fun way to generate student interest to the library. Students expressed their love of the library on clothes and backpacks.
