PAYTON'S PLACE BOUTIQUE
FREELANCE BRAND IDENTITY CONCEPT
This freelance branding project began when a friend approached me to create a logo as a gift for the owner of Payton’s Place Boutique. Working from the creative brief she provided—including a Tiffany blue-inspired color palette and a concept featuring two deer forming a heart—I developed a custom brand identity and presentation mockups that showcased the logo across storefront signage, retail packaging, and other branded touchpoints.
THE BRIEF
Create a logo for the boutique inspired by two deer forming a heart while incorporating a Tiffany blue-inspired color palette. The final identity needed to feel welcoming, elegant, and memorable, with flexibility across signage, shopping bags, and other branded materials.
FROM SKETCH TO BRAND
Every successful identity begins with exploration. I started the project in Procreate on iPad, rapidly sketching and refining different concepts before selecting a direction to develop further. Once the concept was finalized, I recreated the artwork as scalable vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator, ensuring the identity remained crisp, flexible, and production-ready across all applications.
DESIGN APPROACH
Using clean vector illustration and a strategic use of the negative space, I developed a logo that balances elegance with simplicity. The heart, formed naturally by the two deer, creates a memorable focal point while reinforcing the boutique’s welcoming personality. Every element was designed with versatility in mind, allowing the identity to remain recognizable and effective across packaging, signage, merchandise, and digital platforms.
LOGO SYSTEM
A flexible logo system was developed to ensure the brand remained recognizable across a variety of applications. The identity includes a standalone icon, a primary logo combining the icon with typography, and a text-only wordmark, providing versatility for everything from social media and packaging to storefront signage and promotional materials.
BRAND VISUALIZATION
To bring the identity to life, I created a series of presentation mockups demonstrating how the logo could be applied across shopping bags, exterior signage, and other branded materials. These visuals helped communicate the flexibility and real-world potential of the brand beyond the logo alone.
